Wow...

I clicked the "view blog" button after editing a post, and my eyes immediately shifted to my header (which I made myself, by the way) and I got caught in Shannon's gaze. Five minutes later I realized I was still staring at him. Can you blame me though? Look at him. He is EXTREMELY ATTRACTIVE in that picture, although he's extremely attractive most of the time, but ESPECIALLY in this particular picture. Ya know.... if he wanted to marry me... I'd be okay with that :)

Second Best Thing About the Seattle Show...

They played Vox Populi and although it's hard for me to choose which is my favorite song from This Is War, Vox Populi is definitely up there. What made the performance even better? Jared forgot the words at the beginning of the song! He started out what should have been the first verse, with the second verse, and so he just mumbled through the "first verse" and then when it came time to sing the second verse he sang what he had already sung as the first verse. I'm sure there was an easier way to explain that, but it's late and my brain isn't functioning to its full capacity. Anyway. Jared just looked at Shannon, smiled and shrugged. Haha. It was fantastic! I'll post a video of it once I have them uploaded to youtube. Oh and ANOTHER great thing. Jared played Hurricane acoustically and it was BRILLIANT! Video of that coming soon as well :) And I'll post some more concert pics! I don't think anyone even looks at this portion of my blog, but I'm fine posting them for myself. I'll gain great satisfaction by coming here everyday to look at them :)

The Best Part About the Seattle Show

Well. There were a couple things. We met some really amazing people. Although that tends to happen at every concert, especially when you get in line at 10 AM. That's the great thing about MARS concerts, the bond you have going over the bands music. We met this one girl, (I'm not going to mention names) who made these bracelets for the guys. They were made with glass beads and she included a message of how they symbolize the refiners fire, which I thought was a really creative idea and I know the band will love them. We also met a girl that shared a secret love of Anne of Green Gables with us. I know, right? In line at a MARS concert. What are the odds? We also met this really nice woman who works at a radio station and I loved that she was willing to give her honest opinion of the Hurricane video. Cuz honestly I didn't love it. And I feel like all the Echelon have voiced how much they loved the video, and I'd been feeling like there had to be someone else out there who felt the same way I did. So I was glad to hear SHE did. I love the band, but I don't think it's a bad thing not to love everything they do. I'm in it for the music. Anyway, that's a whole other tangent I could go off on, but I'll restrain myself.

So what was the absolute best part about the Seattle show? I felt like everyone knew all the lyrics to all the songs, and they weren't afraid to belt it out. I felt like I was part of the summit and it was amazing. Also, Jared sounded brilliant! The last concert I went to we were right in front of the center speaker and the feedback was horrible, so this time he sounded SO good in comparison. Not that he wouldn't have sounded good if I hadn't been comparing. I just think he had a really great night. Shannon totally killed it as well. I was on the right side of the stage right in front of Shannon, so I didn't see much of Tomo, but he sounded amazing! Another great thing about that night? Susan got on stage for Kings and Queens! I stayed behind to film her. Maybe next time I'll give it a go, though I'll probably make a fool of myself trying to get on stage :) All in all...it was an amazing night, minus a couple things, but once again, that would set me off on a whole other tangent that I don't want to get on right now.

Hey look! Some pictures!

Here a Chuckle, There a Chuckle, Everywhere a Chuckle

A fellow Mars lover friend of mine, and myself, were working on tees the night before the concert, and of course we were listening to the band, to get us all hyped. Not that we really needed much help... Anyway, so Night of the Hunter came on and I noticed something that through out the thousand times I've listened to that song, I've never noticed before! At 3:58 in between the words "I" and "will" Jared gives a little chuckle. I'm sure you find the chuckle present in Alibi as amazing as I do, but the one in Night of the Hunter is much more discrete and I think that makes me love it even more. Give it a listen! It's brilliant, but hard to catch. I think it partly depends on what type of sound system you're listening to, and it's also hard if you don't know what exactly you're listening for. But once you hear it, it's hard to miss it. I noticed it first and freaked out, then I had to rewind and play it about 10 times before my friend could hear it cuz she didn't know what she was listening for. Like I said, it's REALLY discreet. But once she heard it she had to listen to that one part on repeat just because Jared has the cutest laugh ever, or chuckle...I guess I should say :)

Side note: Sometimes I reread the stuff I've written and I realize I sound like a total creeper. For example, I just said Jared has the "cutest laugh ever," which I realize is not necessarily creepy, but kind of weird and it makes it sound like I'm obsessed with Jared Leto, but I'm not obsessed with him. I'm just obsessed with the band, and Jared happens to be the frontman, so the ratio of Jared moments to Shannon, Tomo, or the "band as a whole" moments, is slightly higher, resulting in a lot of my comments having to do with Jared. But I love Jared, Shannon, and Tomo all equally, and I love them together as a band, and I love the music that they make, which is the most important thing.

Advertising Anyone?

So the band is coming in about a week. Excitedness! I made this poster so while I'm impatiently waiting for the 18th I can do some advertising for the show so maybe the guys can have a sold out show for Seattle as well.

Overcome with Excitement

My tickets for the the 30 STM concert just came in the mail yesterday and I'm totally stoked. Only 18 days to go, and only 15 until my concert buddy comes to town. This'll be my third concert of theirs, which isn't as many as some people, but more than many get to experience. Here's to many more Thirty Seconds to Mars concerts in the future. Cheers!

30 STM Kanye Fetish

I've been wondering for a while why 30 STM has taken such a liking to Kanye West. First of all, they did a cover of Kanye's song Stronger, but then they also had him record Hurricane with them for the This Is War Deluxe album. I guess those are the only things that lead me to believe they have some sort of Kanye fetish, but it's kind of strange. I'm not a huge Kanye West fan though so I suppose I'm somewhat biased.

Anyway, I'm going to post a couple songs. The first is Kanye Wests song Stronger. The second is 30 STMs cover of Stronger. I'm posting both of these because 1) the boys totally blow Kanye out of the water with their version and 2) I mentioned in an earlier post how 30 STM does amazing covers, and this is living proof. Then I'm also posting Hurricane feat Kanye West to support my "Kanye West fetish" theory.
